I’d just like to get on top of my personal soapbox for a moment to say a few words about Wind Mobile.
Shit.
Fuck.
In short, Wind totally screwed me when I tried to exchange my Nexus S which I’ve had for under a year. Now don’t get me wrong. I loved that phone. There was just one problem. Approximately 20% of the time the keyboard would input total gibberish, selecting keys my fingers were nowhere near. That might not sound so bad, but picture that happening when a girl(s) you like is texting you or you’re trying to find your friend in a mall, or surf the internet. Not good. Not good, Wind.
My unfriendly Wind representative required me to replicate the problem in the store. Remember how I said it happens about 20% of the time? I don’t have all day to hang out in a Wind store waiting for my phone to fuck up and hope the Wind douche is paying attention.
I suggested they give me a loaner phone while they checked mine out.
“We don’t have loaner phones,” they said, “Besides, we don’t have replacement stock for that model.”
When I mentioned that I would have to switch providers if they were going to stick me with a defective $500 phone, they seemed pretty OK with that.
On my way out of the store another potential customer/sucker asked if I was having issues with my Nexus. I told him my tale of woe and he decided to shop elsewhere.
I tell this tale for the sake of you gentle reader, and those you care about. Please don’t sign up with Wind. I’ve talked two people out of it so far, and I hope to convince more, until Wind has lost multiples of my $500. Please help starve this evil company out of our Canadian marketplace. Sure, our national cell providers are evil and greedy and maybe even worse. But today it is Wind who has wronged me. And they don’t even carry the iPhone.
